MAKING A SPORE PRINT
Picture
Photo provided by Eric Guinther at wikipedia
Taking a spore print is fairly straight forward. You will only need a few simple things, and a fresh mushroom you would like to acquire the spores from.

Things You Will Need

  • A Fresh Mushroom
  • Clean New Construction Paper (In opposing color to the color of the spores)
  • A clear container big enough to cover the diameter of the head of your mushroom
  1. Wash the work surface that you are planning to take your print on with disinfectant (lysol or alcohol)
  2. Place a clean piece of construction paper on the work surface.
  3. Place the head of your mushroom on the paper, gills side down.
  4. Place the clear container over the head of the mushroom
Your spores should release to the paper within 24 hours
